happy birthday usa.

we celebrated july 4th like it was going out of style. we started the day with a yummy breakfast, then i took ella to see the turlock parade. ella surprised me and loved the parade. no wiggling, no complaining, no running around. she stayed glued to her lawn chair and was enamored with the old cars, girl & boy scouts, music, and candy. captain rocked the day by sleeping through most of it, but i can't complain. visiting with family, splashin' around in the pool, eating a ridiculous amount of yummy food, and braving the fireworks (ella with her ears plugged and all) made for a super fun & exhausting day.
