last little tid bit.
i woke up this morning and was instantly aware that i start work tomorrow. my stomach sank. then i flipped our matching calendar to the 14th and read 'pleasure in the job, puts perfection in the work.' so on went my happy face to mask my disappointment and thought about how true that is. i have a job. i have a house. i am very close to getting my masters. i have ella. i am healthy. no cause for complaining.
so cheers to you starting your career. cheers to those precious high schoolers giving you a run for your money haha. and cheers to learning just as much from them as they do us.

surprise.

i seriously had no clue. i was thinking dance lessons or hot air ballooning. way off. way way off. on our way to santa monica we went. if i had an unlimited supply of money you better believe my bootie would live in santa monica. clean. a-mazing shopping. beach. heaven.
i know this blog is supposed to keep you up to date with little smell. but i figured you love me too so you should be forced privileged enough to get a glimpse into my life as well. your welcome.
you park about a block and a half away from ms. lately's studio and walk. i thought i would be heading into some mega tv production studio, but i was wrong (imagine that). it was seriously just business buildings. regular. nothing out of the ordinary except for the fact that a certain fun little nugget parks his pimped out bmw suv right next to the line of people anxiously awaiting to see him, and right next to his adoptive mother's bentley. not a bad life to have.
you can have your copy of chelsea chelsea bang bang back. i found it. don't worry i won't get them confused. mine is autographed especially for brianne and yours is not. not to rub it in at all.

it's honestly not fair that rich people get to eat the food they do. michael's was the bomb. of course i didn't use the word bomb while i was there, i didn't want people to know i am from ceres. so out came my most robust vocabulary and the heels and to michael's we went.

so the coloring is kinda weird. i feel like i look like part of the cullen family which is cool, i'll take that. our time in la went by way to fast. our walk on the beach was not nearly far enough and my time meandering in and out of all of the eclectic shops was definitely not long enough. but the memories will last forever.

fresno zoo.

mat test and the zoo. the first much less thrilling than the latter. picture me in an empty room. analogies on a computer. having a full blown conversation with myself. 'ok this is the same as that, so which one is the same? what does that word even mean? holy cow time.' just a random sampling of what you might have heard. a picnic at the park followed. brian and i may or may not have been making crude jokes about a particular duck doing the jersey turnpike while trying to drink water. we are mature. and then we headed to this. chaffee zoo.
above. ellie and the elliepant. below. captain and i. circa end of january beginning of february.
her favorite thing at the zoo is feeding the giraffes. i don't blame her, it was pretty darn fun. they're so photogenic don't you think? i cracked up after i saw the picture of brian, ella, and apparently a professional giraffe model.
mom had told me before we got there that the weather was supposed to be cooler so the animals might be more active. apparently 90's is cooler for these poor animals because she was right...they were out and ready to mingle. mr. bear especially.
if good, we promised we would take her here. she was good. so there we went.

first rollar coaster ride ever. 'i want to go there' she exclaimed. 'ummm you might not be tall enough' was the response. i was wrong.

she fell asleep within 5 minutes of being in the car. so did i.

you think you know, but you have no idea.

this is august 8th in the life of bree an ella.

+ rainbow nails always start of the day on the right foot. pardon the pun.
+ last wiggleworms of the summer. this was the most fun addition to the summer. high five for free fun.
+ winnie the pooh movie with nana and pa. sat through the entire thing. ate an entire bag of m&ms. life is good.
+ lunch at the barkin dog. nothing beats french fries, ketchup and hot dogs.
+ last stop at the gountain. we had to see the gountain. almost had a heart attack because she didn't think she was going to get to see the gountain.

6 more days left of the summer of twenty-eleven. i am going to miss you summer.

chocolate popsicle and a sprinkler.

the theme at play school this week is ice cream. as soon as i walked in the door to pick ella up she said 'hi mommy can we go get ice cream?' she settled for a chocolate popsicle aka fudgsicle and was happy. my brillant idea added to the equation was the sprinkler. i guess i should mention that it's more of a hose with a twist on nozzle that dad insisted was good. note to self. i was not looking to buy a nozzle, but when you go to home depot with dad he finds the necessities. well two thumbs up for him because it is a good nozzle.
last bit of it's-a-good-nozzle evidence.
