i'm dreaming of a white lemon.
more specifically a white wemon. but hey, who's perfect? i can't believe december twenty-eleven is almost gone, which means january is practically here, which means captain is practically here. holy hot cans. with january basically sitting in our lap, that means you will also be gone again...so here's a recap of the funness, yes i said funness, joy, and family that december brought.
+ free picture with santa. yes please. free winter wonderland awesome decorations complete with toys to play with. yes please. bass pro shop rocks it hard core during the holidays. ella actually sat on santa's lap. smiled for the picture. and had a melt down when it was time to leave. merry christmas.

+ leaves, leaves, leaves. jumping, throwing, crumpling them in hair. all verbs that were attempted and accomplished during this brief photo sesh.
+ unto us a child is born. unto us a son is given. jesus' half brother. and when i say jesus, i say it hay-sus. no pun intended.
+ play school christmas program. songs have been sung and modified since, hence...i'm dreaming of a white wemon. all copyright issues can be taken up with ella braylynn.
+ gace paint and hair tinsel. two things a girl can't live without.
+ a trip to morgan hill to have chirstmas with family would not be complete without a cute hair-do and touching the pee stream of a dog. i wonder what was going through her head.

+ 2011 ferguson family chirstmas card. much less painful than last year, yet still frustrating. 2012 aspirations: teach ella to say cheese and LOOK at the camera without MOVING. note to self.

+ a mini angelina ballerina emerges. got the arms down, geet still need work.

+ ella loves her ornaments. currently she has four. a snowman, a penguin, a gingerbread man, and a teddy bear. and she can tell you exactly which ones are hers and which are cici's. that ones cici's. that ones cici's. and that one and that one and that one...
frosting cut outs. no worries if it stains your teeth or gives you a sugar high for two days. chirstmas would not be christmas without cut outs.

+ progress.
 + mission accomplished.
+ brian turned the big 2-9. my calculations indicate that that is exactly one year away from 30. which means he's one year away from officially OLD.
+ play date with emma and that darn red balloon. i should have known that balloon was trouble. i mean it is red. climbing on the roof of my car to save it from a dreary garage death wasn't good enough. neither was surviving the wrath of a 3 and 1 1/2 year old. no, i had to go and say, "ella let me hold your balloon so you don't let it go..." and then of course it gets caught on the door and i let it go. the sad, pain-staking look on elle's face will forever be etched into my memory. at least she took solace in the fact that the balloon is now with god in heaven.

+ oh christmas tree, oh christmas tree. finally got a tree skirt, very grown up. ella made her first christmas chain and had a great time ripping each link off. and she finally started to grasp the idea that we celebrate christmas because baby jesus was born. she thinks that baby jesus has christmas every day, but that is besides the point.

+ chirstmas eve was spent with brian's family and the nutcracker that she adored so much. ella got to open one of her gifts from nana...the super duper cute jammas for both her and her baby. the rest of the night she was consumed with the fact that they were twinsies. the night ended with leaving cookies for santa and leaving reindeer good on the lawn. disclaimer: for anyone that may or may not come across this blog, i do know how to spell (well, how to utilize spell checker), ella replaces her f's with g's and it is fun to talk to like a three year old apparently. so yes, we sprinkled reindeer good on the lawn, so i am positive the reindeer's enjoyed visiting our humble home.

+ christmas morning. we opened presents, ate a hardy breakfast, and had a fashion show. a typical christmas morning for most families i presume. most children transform into two separate princess' before noon right?!

+ dinner at cici and pa's concluded our christmas day. ella got to open her last presents, baby outfits and a tink costume...both major hits. dragging her suitcase full of baby clothes around is now routine. she cracks me up while she pretends being a mommy. so grown up for a three year old.

+ 38 1/2 inches tall, 75th percentile for height. 32 pounds. not sure the percentile for weight, but i'm assuming she's not breaking any records since she skkkkinnny. ella had her first physical on december 28th. despite being there for an hour and a half, having to pee in a cup, and getting 3 shots during her normal nap time...she was awesome. she cracked the dr. up with her performing, can you spell ham? and was very aware that she got shots which gave her boo-boos. buttttt... she got a bandage and an apple lollipop, so life was good.

cute 'do.
just a side note of a cuteness. ella's hair is beyond long...half due to lack of time to get it trimmed (bad mom status. hollar.) and half due to me wanting it to grow. tinsel is going to add some much needed sparkle dontcha think? ♥
