quirky.

you know i have some pretty ridiculous obsessions. i honestly get consumed to the point where all my brain can think about is that specific thing. it is almost like i have no control over my body and all i want to do is immerse myself in the obsession until i achieve my specified goal. no i don't need to be committed. these obsessions are harmless and usually involve something related to teaching or getting my craft/party on. see, ridiculous. well, the latest obsession of all things pretty involves FONTS! i found the holy grail of all font sites: kevinandamanda.com they have tons of scrapbooking and handwriting fonts and they are F-to the-REE FREE! another obsession is getting something on sale. so naturally i am in heaven right now. free fonts. man i love the way that rolls off the tongue. check it out. i'm serious. you'll be glad you did.

brusha. brusha. brusha.

we have had a busy week. i went in for our grade level articulation meeting...oh how i miss my fabulous teacher friends. i seriously had a cheek-ache from laughing so much. i made captain an outfit to match ella's. they're going to be freakin' adorable on saturday for church...i'll make sure to take l.to the.o.t.s of pictures. i made our mother dearest a mother's day card. this morning ella went to the...wait for it...dentist! we had been practicing all week how to open up wide and say 'ahhhh'..apparently it paid off. she did throw in some ella antics. she thought the chair looked like a waterside and was going to try to slide down it. she l♥ved the water they squirt in your mouth to rinse it out and kept asking for more. 'we have water at home and my mom gives me it to me sometimes,' is what she told them. (only sometimes i give her food and water ...sometimes haha.) and probably most annoying thing for dr. gerber...she kept trying to take the mini mirror out of his hand so she could inspect penny, her bear, and penny's teeth. i left not wanting to commit any crimes, and in fact found it enjoyable. no cavities, no crying, i say it was a success.

triple digits.

as time does its thing and continues on, my dude turned 100 days today. unfortunately, his celebration consisted of getting a HepB shot :(  since i switch up the shot schedule, i have to go in more often, but there is a reason that autism statistics are sky rocketing, and whether it be to shots or not...i feel better spacing my spawn's shots out. 
at 100 days captain is starting to:
lift his legs straight up in the air.
grab my hair, toys, whatever is in reach.
use my fingers to pull himself up into a sitting position.
get his sleep/eat routine down.
talk, talk, and talk.
love his sister.
and
do the gut laugh.

 apparently, the torturous photo shoots that i subject my kids to is rubbing off. tonight ella set up a photo shoot for herself and all of her beloved stuffed animals. she asked me to take a picture of her with them, with the stipulation being i had to use her camera. i did use her camera, just also used mine as well.

3 months and 3 years.

i blinked and my dude turned 3 months today. three whole entire months. in fact, in 3 days my dude will have been in the flesh for 100 days. in school the primary grades always have a 100 day of school celebration. so 100 days ALIVE has to be extremely important. a whole century of days (i'm not even sure that is grammatically, mathematically, brianne-ically correct). but you get the drift. so in honor of my dude's three months of living we busted out a photo shoot. one of elle and one of him. temporary insanity consumed my body and i blame it on sleep deprivation (and my need to insist on the fourth of every month being my dude's big b-day). live with it.

for the record. yes that is a thumb in his mouth. looks like i'm going to be two for two in the thumb sucker category of life. and yes that is the closest picture i have ever gotten to having both ella and captain smiling in a picture. usually her 'hugs' aren't always taken so well by my dude. do you blame him?

life lately.

1. we made donuts again. this time with buttermilk donuts and an orange glaze frosting.
2. we have been reading books about insects/bugs and looking at insect flash cards. ella wants to know the name of each insect/spider and what they eat. 'this one is a dung beetle.' 'a dung beetle, what does that one eat?' 'it eats poop!' 'oh yeah, it eats poop like molly.' yes, yes it does. sad but true.
3. holding cappy caps. a new favorite past time for ellie braylynns.
4. riding a tricycle. who knew she could do that. i saw her bust out her peddling skills for the first time today. 
5. purple and pink bubbles? heck yes. and bubble machines are a must. blowing bubbles makes me light headed.  kinda a wimp is what you're thinking. i already know i am. i'm one step ahead of you.
